Families worry over disappeared Ethiopian pilots

ADDIS ABABA - Two members of the Ethiopian Air Force have disappeared and their families are worried about their safety:
The disappeared are:
1. 2nd Lt. Teklu Takele - Co-pilot on an Mi-35 fighter helicopter
2. 2nd Lt. Tewodros Gizachew - Co-pilot on a DHC-6 transport airplane.
The last time families heard from 2nd Lt. Teklu Takele was when he was spotted in Dire Dawa about two months ago.
The pilots were sharing their fears with friends that they may face government retribution because they were student trainees of Captain Teshome Tenkolu, the former Director of Mekelle Flight Training School who commandeered one of the school's planes and defected to Eritrea in February 2003.
